The paper overviews the latest progress of basic research and industrial practice about the pretreatment options for the carbonaceous gold ores ,concludes the distribution of carbonaceous gold deposits worldwide ,analyzes the preg-robbing mechanism of carbonaceous materials ,compares currently used pretreatment methods ,and introduces pro-duction of typical carbonaceous ores .
