Based on the introduction of the unique characteristics of ion-absorbed rare earth deposits,a brief description of the invention and evolution of the ion-absorbed rare earth mining process and the advantages and disadvantages of three processes were presented.The development direction of mining technology of ion-absorbed rare earth mineral is proposed,and the establishment of new concepts,terminology and indicators for investigation and assessment of ion-absorbed rare earth mining are recommended.
