本文首次报道了利用倍频方向的籽晶生长GdCa4O(BO3)3:Yb(GdCOB:Yb)晶体,通过控制温场及生长速度可以得到高光学质量的晶体.分析了晶体的生长习性及孪晶的形成.通过与b向生长的晶体相比较,认为以倍频方向生长的晶体加工器件时,可以极大地提高利用率(从50%提高到90%).测量了晶体的室温透过谱和荧光谱.利用976nm的激光二极管及列阵二极管作为泵浦源,测量了晶体沿最佳倍频方向的激光输出及自倍频性质.
