根据纳米材料的优异阻燃性能和蒙脱土对聚合物材料的瓷化阻燃作用,提出了EPDM橡胶绝热材料新的研究方向——碳层的可瓷化.在EPDM橡胶中添加熔点较低的有机改性纳米蒙脱土后,蒙脱土在燃气流的烧蚀与冲刷作用下发生熔融,形成的黏性液体可以与裂解碳层发生物理交联,阻挡裂解气体的挥发和碳层的脱落,达到提高绝热材料抗烧蚀、抗冲刷性能和降低烟雾信号的目的.结果表明:蒙脱土与SiO2的用量比在13∶27时各项性能最优,此时,烟雾信号比未添加蒙脱土的提高约50%.
