在过去的40年,难燃的合成聚合物对“无卤阻燃”的要求已经从抑燃变为降低烟和毒性。在未来十年,对具有可持续性的阻燃材料将有一定需求。满足可持续发展的要求是一项复杂的挑战,涉及到全面了解产品的生命周期,尤其要注重原材料的选择和报废处理。本文将介绍卤系阻燃剂不曾考量到的问题,并对防火材料的可持续发展要求和产品生命周期的关键领域进行讨论,最后,将介绍一些最近的可持续发展防火材料的实例。

Over the last 40 years the demands for less flammable synthetic polymers have changed from ignition suppres?sion to lower smoke and toxicity, to “halogen?free”? Over the next decade sustainable fire retarded materials will be re?quired? Meeting all the requirements for sustainability is a complex challenge, requiring a full understanding of the product?s life cycle, with particular emphasis on raw materials selection and end?of?life processing? A brief description of the unex?pected problems of halogenated flame retardants is presented? This is followed by a discussion on the sustainability require?ments of fire safe materials, and the critical areas of the product?s life cycle? Finally, some recent examples of sustainable developments of fire safe materials are presented.
