以酸度系数为1.25的调质高炉渣为原料在实验室进行了四辊离心法制备矿渣棉试验.对所得矿渣棉表观形貌及直径、渣球含量及吸水率、矿相及析晶温度进行分析.结果表明:矿渣棉表面呈光滑的圆柱状,其直径、渣球含量和吸水率分别为4.9μm、3.76%和0.73%,均符合国标要求;矿渣棉的玻璃化程度较高,除极少量钙铝黄长石(Ca[Al(AlSi)O7])和钙镁黄长石(Ca2 MgSi2O7)外,析晶几乎为零,其析晶温度在882℃左右.
