A review of the progress on research of microencapsu lation and the principles of controlled release technology is presented.Various mechanisms related with the controlled release and techniques for the preparatio n of microcapsules are discussed.The prospects and benefits of application of mi croencapsulants to corrosion inhibitors are also presented.
