研究了Fe离子在石墨化过程中对聚丙烯腈基碳纤维结构与性能的影响。采用不同浓度的FeCl3溶液对碳纤维进行浸渍,并在2500℃进行高温处理。通过扫描电镜、X射线衍射、体密度、力学性能等测试手段考察了碳纤维的结构和性能。结果表明,经过高温处理后,Fe离子具有催化石墨化效应,促进了碳纤维从乱层结构向石墨结构的转变;碳纤维微晶尺寸、层间距、弹性模量增加,表面形态也得到改变。同时,Fe引起碳元素的流失,高温处理后体密度降低、碳纤维的缺陷增加,导致抗拉强度降低。

Influence of ferric ions on graphitization of polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers was investigated by dipping fibers in FeCl3 solutions with different concentrations before heating at 2500 ℃.The crystallite parameters and morphology of resulting carbon fibers were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The effect of ferric ions on mechanical properties and structure of carbon fibers was investigated.The results show that the treatment in FeCl3 solutions has a catalytic-graphitization effect on the fibers by increasing the interlayer spacing,stacking height,modulus and changing the surface state of carbon fibers during heat treatment at high temperature,which means ferric ions accelerating the transformation of structure of carbon fibers from turbostratic to graphitic structure.The carbon loss increases and bulk density of the carbon fibers decreases with addition of ferric ions,resulting in its lower tensile strength.
