联苯四羧酸二(BPDA)与4,4’-二氨基二苯醚(ODA)及自制的2,2’-对苯基双-(5-氨基苯并咪唑)(PBABI)在二甲基乙酰胺中共聚,成膜后进行热酰亚胺化,得到了含双苯并咪唑共聚酰亚胺薄膜,对其结构、热稳定性、力学性能及光学性能进行了研究。结果表明,PBABI杂环单体的引入对聚酰亚胺的热分解温度稍有影响,但明显提高了聚合物的玻璃化转变温度。随着杂环含量的增加,材料的拉伸强度和模量均有所提高,当二胺单体的物质的量比为9:1时,其力学性能提高明显。

Polyimides containing bis-benzimidazole units were derived from 2, 2'-p-phenylene-bis (5-amino benzimidazole) (PBABI) and 4, 4'-diamino diphenylether (ODA) and 3, 3', 4, 4'-biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride. The structure, thermal stability, mechanical and optical properties of the polyimides were investigated in this paper. The results show that the introduction of the PBABI in the main chains has a little effect on the decomposition temperature, but greatly improves the glass transition temperatures of the polyimides. Td and Tg are over 550℃ and 400 ℃ respectively. The addition of PBABI enhances the mechanical properties of the polyimides, and the tensile strength is up to 200 MPa and tensile modulus is up to 6.98 GPa without any stretching as the molar ratio of ODA to PBABI is 9 : 1. The outstanding properties of the polyimides are most likely due to the rigid-rod structure of polyimides and the hydrogen bonding of their inter-macromolecular chains.
