A phenomenological model was developed for studying the spin-orientation transition of nanocrystalline Nd2Fe14B in the presence of inter-grain exchange coupling. The effective anisotropy constants, K-1(eff), K-2(eff) and K-3(eff) of nanocrystalline Nd2Fe14B were calculated by taking into account the inter-grain exchange coupling, It was found that the spin-reorientation temperature that corresponds to K-1(eff)=0 is shifted to a lower temperature in nanocrystalline Nd2Fe14B due to a strong exchange coupling.
