对添加微量Sb元素的4XXX系列铝合金的铸造、挤压及锻造显微组织进行了观察. 结果表明: 铸造状态下的树枝状组织在挤压预热过程中形成了带有方向性的小结晶, 之后再成长为显微结晶, 观察到了变化为球状的结晶粒. 锻造后, α相基体中除了共晶组成(11%~12.6%Si)外, 还存在多角形初晶Si和Al4Cu 9相. 正是这些相的存在, 提高了合金的高温强度. 在凝固过程中, 由于Mg的部分偏析, 认为能析出Mg2Si, 有助于提高材料的耐热性能, 并判断Al4Cu9相起维持高温强度的重要作用. 用该材料制造的汽车连杆的平均硬度为Hv133, 大体上能够满足实际需要(Hv13 7). 随着锻造温度的增加, 变形抗力和加工应力减小, 合金的成形性能得到提高.
