The mixed spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 transverse Ising model with a crystal field is studied within the framework of the effective-field theory with correlations. The phase diagrams and thermal behaviors of magnetizations are investigated numerically for the honeycomb (z = 3). The results show that there is no tricritical point for the system.
