THE 2-SOLITON BOUND-STATE SOLUTION IN AN ORDER-PARAMETER-PRESERVING ANTIFERROMAGNET

Employing the Dyson-Maleev transformation and the coherent state ansatz, the two-soliton bound-state solution in an order-parameter-preserving antiferromagnet is investigated by using the method of multiple scales and long-wavelength approximation.

Introducing the Dyson-Maleev transformation. the coherent state ansatz and the time-dependent variation principle, we obtain two partial different equations of motion from Hamiltonian. Employing the method of multiple scales. we reduce these equations into the envelope function equations and force the amplitude function to satisfy a nonlinear Schrodinger equation. Using the inverse- scat-tering transformation, we obtain the single soliton solution and discuss the solitary magnon localization in antiferromagnet RbFeBr3

SOLITON ENERGY IN THE FCC ANTIFERROMAGNET CEAS

Employing the Dyson-Maleev transformation and the coherent state ansatz, two partial differential equations of motion from the Hamiltonian of the f.c.c. antiferromagnet CeAs are obtained. By using the multiple scalar method and the long-wavelength approximation, these equations are reduced to a nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The single soliton solution is obtained by using the inverse scattering transformation. For the single soliton bound state, the energy and the spatial configurations of the spin are given.

With employing the Dyson-Maleev transformation and the coherent-state ansatz, two partial different motion equations are obtained from Hamiltonian of antiferromagnet CsFeBr3. By using the method of multiple scales and the long-wavelength approximation, these equations are changed into a nonlinear Schrodinger equation. By applying inverse-scattering transformation, solution of the equation is obtained, solitary excitations in antiferromagnet CsFeBr3 are also investigated.

Intrinsic localized modes in an order-parameter-preserving antiferromagnet are investigated with employing the Dyson-Maleev transformation and the coherent-state ansatz. These modes which be- low the magnon frequency band correspond to a local large-angle, low-frequency precessional mo- tion of spins, quantum states of which are characterized by the indefiniteness of the number of rele- vant magnons.

VIBRATIONAL-SPECTRA OF DIAGONALLY SELF-AFFINE FRACTALS

The vibrational densities of states for a deterministic self-affine aggregate and the two-dimensional Eden hulls are computed numerically by the continued-fraction recursion method. It is shown that in contrast with the geometrical complexity the density of states for the diagonally self-affine fractals exhibits a simple power-law scaling. Motivated by these suggestive results, we extend the work done by Alexander and Orbach in 1982 and conclude that the concept of fractons is still valid in characterizing the vibrational spectra of all diagonally self-affine fractals. We also relate the fracton dimensionality to other exponents.

Computer simulation of vibration spectrum in disordered systems

The disordered systems are of fractal structures. Alexander and Orbach showed that the vibrational density of states for fractal nets follow. the universal law:D(omega) similar to omega(2-:) where d is the spectral (fracton) dimensionality;d=4/3 for any Euclidean dimension d. The excitations belonging to this class were named ''fractons''. We have employed a novel numerical method developed by Williams er al. and performed computer simulation. We have pointed out that the connection between the vibration spectrum and the ultrasonic attenuation in sintered metal powders.
