It is an important resource that can be effectively utilized. An experiment was described in which steel slag was tested as an adsorbent for the removal of phosphorus from waste water. Phosphorus removal depended on the amount of steel slag added, the pH value, the contact time, and the initial concentration. Under laboratory conditions when the added slag was 7.5g/L, the contact time 2h, and the pH value was equivalent to 6.5, over 99% of the phosphorus was removed; the experimental data on steel slag adsorption of phosphorus in the water fitted the Freundlich isotherm model. Steel slag was found to be very effective in adsorbing phosphorus.","authors":[{"authorName":"Y.Z. Lan","id":"6a2f6595-f030-4136-82bc-2beacb7c57f5","originalAuthorName":"Y.Z. Lan"},{"authorName":" S. On the basis of the first law of thermodynamics, the cooling efficiency was deduced from the change of enthalpy inside hot plate. The relationship between the cooling efficiency and its influencing parameters was regressed from plenty of data collected from the worksite and discussed in detail. The temperature profiles resulting from the online model and the model modified by regressed formulas were presented and compared. The results indicated that the control accuracy of the modified model was increased obviously.","authors":[{"authorName":"ZHANG Dianhua","id":"64fa442b-9e99-4fc1-8394-ea8e01c98cc5","originalAuthorName":"ZHANG Dianhua"},{"authorName":"WANG Bingxing","id":"5d70a2ac-0e49-4749-acab-23b27045ffb3","originalAuthorName":"WANG Bingxing"},{"authorName":"ZHOU Na","id":"7e20f5f9-6859-4635-930b-94526a25bbe1","originalAuthorName":"ZHOU Na"},{"authorName":"YU Ming","id":"ed928e55-5597-4373-9748-f1e318a83331","originalAuthorName":"YU Ming"},{"authorName":"WANG Jun","id":"97d62e03-4545-44ea-9cb3-b04c5b0dafc4","originalAuthorName":"WANG Jun"}],"categoryName":"|","doi":"","fpage":"24","id":"bcf9be59-838d-48aa-8e75-2aa6ad097ef6","issue":"5","journal":{"abbrevTitle":"GTYJXBYWB","coverImgSrc":"journal/img/cover/GTYJXBEN.jpg","id":"1","issnPpub":"1006-706X","publisherId":"GTYJXBYWB","title":"钢铁研究学报(英文版)"},"keywords":[{"id":"a37f5c5b-bc90-44b1-9163-ac014669a07c","keyword":"hot rolled plate;laminar cooling;cooling efficiency;temperature profile","originalKeyword":"hot rolled plate;laminar cooling;cooling efficiency;temperature profile"}],"language":"en","publisherId":"1006-706X_2008_5_5","title":"Cooling Efficiency of Laminar Cooling System for Plate Mill","volume":"15","year":"2008"},{"abstractinfo":"Comparative experiments were conducted to reveal the removal behaviors of three kinds of silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics during polishing and the effects of ceramic microstructure on the surface quality were also reported. Experimental results show that the second phase in SiC ceramics plays an important role in the surface quality when its size is large enough. The surface quality is enslaved to the formation of steps at interfaces between second phase and SiC matrix that results from different elastic  modulus and hardness between two phases. Under 3 μm abrasive grains polishing condition, different SiC ceramics show different removal mechanisms. With decreasing abrasive grain size, all of different SiC ceramics exhibit a ductile removal mode, which decreases surface roughness effiently.","authors":[{"authorName":"Guiling Liu","id":"459ebdd8-f87f-4d48-8782-80cfd5c49608","originalAuthorName":"Guiling Liu"}],"categoryName":"|","doi":"","fpage":"125","id":"27fb9fda-bd07-4713-954c-5efd1ee6a880","issue":"2","journal":{"abbrevTitle":"CLKXJSY","coverImgSrc":"journal/img/cover/JMST.jpg","id":"11","issnPpub":"1005-0302 ","publisherId":"CLKXJSY","title":"材料科学技术(英文)"},"keywords":[{"id":"416f5913-e14b-4887-a51f-1f156cb97cac","keyword":"SiC","originalKeyword":"SiC"},{"id":"83a2e5c8-f25b-4a63-af9f-65067e907eb2","keyword":"null","originalKeyword":"null"},{"id":"1cf6b117-0f81-4b11-bce3-833a5a23c8cf","keyword":"null","originalKeyword":"null"},{"id":"0e904d8d-da00-4465-831d-c574f20c5e9a","keyword":"null","originalKeyword":"null"}],"language":"en","publisherId":"1005-0302_2010_2_7","title":"Removal Behaviors of Different SiC Ceramics during Polishing","volume":"26","year":"2010"},{"abstractinfo":"To determine residual stresses in a (flat) plate or bar with a rectangular cross-section by X-ray diffraction after removal of material, we can sectionally approximate the measured stress curve with depth using power series, then consequently evaluate the additional stresses created by removal, and finally obtain the true stress distribution with depth before the layers were removed. Formulas to evaluate corrections for stress have been derived. Two examples demonstrate that power series with few terms can provide us with an approximation good enough for the measured stress curve, and that the influence of the approximation on the corrective result is far less than that of the errors arising from the X-ray stress determination itself.","authors":[],"categoryName":"|","doi":"","fpage":"217","id":"246fc2ec-8556-4bea-87c6-3073b43ff948","issue":"3","journal":{"abbrevTitle":"JOTAE","id":"babe9570-30ea-47b6-b810-69e7ab44590e","issnPpub":"0090-3973","publisherId":"JOTAE","title":"Journal of Testing and Evaluation"},"keywords":[{"id":"3c7418eb-564f-4f72-a9a7-08c599379e56","keyword":"x-ray stress determination;stress correction;approximation;power;series;single-side removal;double-side removal;shot peening","originalKeyword":"x-ray stress determination;stress correction;approximation;power;series;single-side removal;double-side removal;shot peening"}],"language":"en","publisherId":"0090-3973_1994_3_1","title":"STRESS CORRECTION FOR REMOVAL OF MATERIAL IN X-RAY STRESS DETERMINATION","volume":"22","year":"1994"},{"abstractinfo":"The aim of this article was to theoretically study diffusion and migration of chloride ions during electrochemical chloride removal. The proposed model would enable optimization of its application by predicting the optimal treatment time and current combination. A mathematical model for simulating the transport behavior of chloride ions was developed by consideration of diffusion and migration of chloride ions when a constant DC current density was applied through the marine cast iron artifacts. The corresponding tests were conducted to validate the mathematical model. This model predicted the data of the extraction ratio of the chloride ion that correlated satisfactorily with the experimental values. An important issue in electrochemical chloride removal was to understand how chloride ions moved, taking account of diffusion and migration of chloride ions and the release of binding chloride ions. The effects of the treatment time, externally applied current density, chloride diffusion coefficient, and rate constant of release of binding chloride ion on chloride removal are studied. The specific quantitative details applied to one-dimensional model were discussed here. This article has proposed a mathematical model for the first time, which was showed to be a useful tool that can reveal the ionic transport mechanism and optimize the application during electrochemical chloride removal.","authors":[{"authorName":"Weizhen OUYANG","id":"cdcc0e7d-2dd9-47d1-b457-1fb7d29370c1","originalAuthorName":"Weizhen OUYANG"},{"authorName":"Xia CAO2","id":"49303666-cc2a-42a9-b7d7-4da89e8013ce","originalAuthorName":"Xia CAO2"},{"authorName":"Ning WANG","id":"84d62ecd-c007-4c51-ae23-2c430d3fc84a","originalAuthorName":"Ning WANG"}],"categoryName":"|","doi":"","fpage":"91","id":"79d71eaa-153f-4bfb-9e07-9cae1e62af4b","issue":"2","journal":{"abbrevTitle":"JSXBYWB","coverImgSrc":"journal/img/cover/amse.jpg","id":"49","issnPpub":"1006-7191","publisherId":"JSXBYWB","title":"金属学报(英文版)"},"keywords":[{"id":"b25d41f0-6ffd-4685-b6b4-be7741afa3fd","keyword":"Marine cast iron","originalKeyword":"Marine cast iron"},{"id":"ab860690-b363-4523-ac3e-ac69a2a99e1b","keyword":"null","originalKeyword":"null"},{"id":"dcf0ca9d-70f1-4d0e-a6ae-fd4c7c5df8c4","keyword":"null","originalKeyword":"null"}],"language":"en","publisherId":"1006-7191_2009_2_8","title":"A mathematical model for electrochemical chloride removal from marine cast iron artifacts","volume":"22","year":"2009"},{"abstractinfo":"Kinetics and mechanisms on the removal of aqueous lead ion by carbonate hydroxyapatite (CHap) are investigated in the present work. Experimental results show that, in the whole pH range, the lead removal percentage increases with decreasing pH values and reaches a maximum at pH=2–3. Under some conditions, the lead residual concentration is below national integrated wastewater discharge standard, even drinking water standard. The removal behavior is a complicated non-homogeneous solid/liquid reaction, which can be described by two stages from kinetic point of view. At the earlier stage, reaction rate is so fast that its kinetic course is intricate, which requires further study. At the latter stage, the rate of reaction becomes slow and the process of reaction accords with one order reaction kinetic equation. Experimental results show that the relationship between reaction rate constant k1 and temperature T accords to Arrhenius Equation, and the activation energy of sorption (Ea) is 11.93 kJ/mol and frequency factor (A) is 2.51 s-1. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy with an energy dispersive X-ray fluoresence spectrometer (SEM-EDS) and toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) test were conducted in this work. It is indicated that the main mechanism is dissolution-precipitation, accompanying with superficial sorption.","authors":[{"authorName":"Huanyan XU","id":"ccd6c3cd-5c1c-483b-8c37-986ff11dd115","originalAuthorName":"Huanyan XU"},{"authorName":" Lei YANG","id":"b3bb0441-1130-4971-9c03-5366b7df13e1","originalAuthorName":" Lei YANG"},{"authorName":" Peng WANG","id":"5016c1f8-9cf6-465a-bbbd-0bdc9033e4fc","originalAuthorName":" Peng WANG"}],"categoryName":"|","doi":"","fpage":"417","id":"c8b8784f-0315-472f-997e-391555c3693f","issue":"3","journal":{"abbrevTitle":"CLKXJSY","coverImgSrc":"journal/img/cover/JMST.jpg","id":"11","issnPpub":"1005-0302 ","publisherId":"CLKXJSY","title":"材料科学技术(英文)"},"keywords":[{"id":"4c5901e3-f8f1-4b5a-bf54-81fd2ca39e88","keyword":"Carbonate hydroxyapatite","originalKeyword":"Carbonate hydroxyapatite"},{"id":"b133734e-37b5-4b2e-961a-5a130219db52","keyword":"铅离子","originalKeyword":"铅离子"},{"id":"f2f8406e-0ffc-4ab5-bd4d-ef354d7694d6","keyword":"动力学","originalKeyword":"动力学"},{"id":"2269ae77-44d7-4ced-a748-df20040dc241","keyword":"机理","originalKeyword":"机理"},{"id":"cd1fa637-c128-47e9-85a3-7b150ee55d0c","keyword":"溶解-沉淀","originalKeyword":"溶解-沉淀"}],"language":"en","publisherId":"1005-0302_2007_3_14","title":"Removal Mechanism of Aqueous Lead by a Novel Eco-material: Carbonate Hydroxyapatite","volume":"23","year":"2007"},{"abstractinfo":"The kinetics of denitrogenation from liquid steel was studied by using an oxygen-nitrogen analysis system(LECO TC-436) under 1600℃ similar to 2813℃ conditions. The results show that when [S]=0.005%, nitrogen removal was controlled by nitrogen transfer in liquid diffusion layer, when [S]=0.012% and 0.140%, it was controlled by both nitrogen transfer in liquid diffusion layer and the chemical reaction at the liquid-gas interface below 2250℃, and by nitrogen transfer in liquid diffusion layer under 2250℃ similar to 2813 degreesC conditions. The activation energy E-a was 57 kJ/mol for 0.0050%[S], 95 kJ/mol for 0.012%[S], 165 kJ/mol for 0.140%[S]. The resistance of sulphur on nitrogen removal decreased with the temperature rose, and disappeared at 2630℃. Variables studied were initial copper ions concentration, rotational speed of the zinc rod, temperature and concentration of organic additives. It was found that cementation reaction is first order in presence and in absence of additives. Increasing concentration of initial copper ions, rotational speed of the zinc rod and temperature were found to increase the rate of cementation. In presence of organic additives an enhancement of the rate was observed, except in presence of methoxyfuranone the rate was found to decrease by an amount ranging from 11.74% to 33.79%. Rate acceleration or inhibition is associated mainly with changes in the structure of the additives as well as its concentration. The apparent activation energy for the cementation process in presence of different additives was estimated and was found to be ranged between 11.8 kJ/mol and 25.95 kJ/mol. These values suggest that the copper removal process in presence of these additives is controlled by diffusion. A scanning electron microscopy study of copper deposits obtained in presence of tolylfuranone, phenylpyrone and methoxyfuranone correlate with their behaviour during the kinetic study. Different reaction conditions and the physical properties of solutions were studied to obtain dimensionless correlation among all these parameters. It was found that on applying cementation reaction on a sample from industrial wastewater in presence of phenylpyrone about 91.9% of Cu2+ are removed.","authors":[{"authorName":"A.A.Taha","id":"699280ac-233b-45a7-a78c-1b7c28d0d6f0","originalAuthorName":"A.A.Taha"},{"authorName":" M.G.Marei","id":"81f6b0e7-6a0c-47d2-9e16-fd7fa8b11d20","originalAuthorName":" M.G.Marei"},{"authorName":" D.E.Abd El-khalek","id":"2371e192-274f-4ffa-ab58-4dbc8d385db3","originalAuthorName":" D.E.Abd El-khalek"}],"categoryName":"|","doi":"","fpage":"539","id":"99959a35-db1e-47e5-b46b-048a4aa78666","issue":"5","journal":{"abbrevTitle":"CLKXJSY","coverImgSrc":"journal/img/cover/JMST.jpg","id":"11","issnPpub":"1005-0302 ","publisherId":"CLKXJSY","title":"材料科学技术(英文)"},"keywords":[{"id":"c7a899b1-dd32-450b-b972-940b27b0c67a","keyword":"Cementation of copper","originalKeyword":"Cementation of copper"},{"id":"596f0abb-1ea2-4bc6-ac13-7240ca0e406d","keyword":"null","originalKeyword":"null"}],"language":"en","publisherId":"1005-0302_2004_5_23","title":"Effect of Some Heterocyclic Derivatives on the Removal of Copper Ions from Wastewater by Cementation","volume":"20","year":"2004"},{"abstractinfo":"Material removal and surface damage of Ti3SiC2 ceramic during electrical discharge machining (EDM) were investigated.
